Happy New Year!... Almost two weeks late, but hey, better late than never! Right?
During these past two weeks, I have had time to sort of reflect on everything that has happened in my life, the good, the bad, the truly traumatically embarrassing, and I have realized just how much my Heavenly Father has blessed me, not only throughout my life, but this year already.
As some of you may know (or not know, depending on who you are), one of my biggest dreams and goals is to travel the world. I want to visit 30 different countries before I turn 30, I want to go to every state, and I want to step foot on every continent. Pretty big ambitions, I know. Well, this year, I get to go to Europe! Through a study abroad, I have been blessed with the chance to travel to five different countries and learn more about the different cultures and history. I am pretty excited to say the least. Honestly, I still get excitement butterflies whenever I talk about it.
This year, I also get to serve a mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or the LDS or Mormon church). In exactly one month, I can submit my papers, and after that I will learn where I will have the blessing of serving the Lord.
I honestly have never been more excited in my life.
I know that through this experience, the Lord with strengthen me, bless me, and guide me through different challenges and obstacles. I know that this will only bring me closer to my Heavenly Father, and even though it scares me out of my mind, I know it is what I am supposed to do right now.
At the beginning of last year, one of my friends challenged me to do something each day that scared me. I may have not succeeded at it everyday, I tried my hardest.
We need to be challenging ourselves, if only to have some crazy stories to share later!
I hope everyone has an amazing new year full of many opportunities for fun, not so fun, love, heartbreak, laughter, everything.
xoxo, Sydney
I love you. :)
